About the NPSL

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is the successor of the Men’s Premier Soccer League (MPSL), which formed in 2002. In 2005, the league was recreated into an expanded national league to accommodate teams from the Midwest region, and in 2007 a Northeastern region was added. In 2008, the National Premier Soccer League became a truly national league with the addition of the Southeast region.

The NPSL is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) as an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the ruling body for soccer in the United States and FIFA the world’s ruling body for soccer. Integrity, Success, and Longevity are what the National Premier Soccer League stands for. The NPSL operates and is managed as a team run league.

Austin United FC competes in the NPSL as a part of the Lone Star Conference in the South Region. We are a premier soccer team committed to providing quality soccer and fostering growth and development to the highest level for every player.

Larissa Villarruel is from Guadalajara, Mexico. She has been passionate about soccer since growing up in Mexico, but things were put on pause when moving to the United Stated at a young age. For personal reasons she only started playing more competitive soccer after graduating high school, but stayed physically active playing other sports while in high school.

She has been coaching girls’ soccer at the high school level for 4 years and was a strength and conditioning assistant training coach for U14 summer camps in Dallas, TX from 2014-2016.

Her coaching philosophy revolves around promoting commitment, resilience, competitiveness and the natural passion for the game. She loves helping athletes become better players, but more so helping them become better people.
